In February our client Sam Westby was found not guilty in an alleged second-degree murder case after a two-week trial. She was assaulted by her enraged husband. He threatened to kill her. She had to use a pistol to defend herself. As is often the case when a man assaults a woman, the resort to deadly force was reasonable and necessary. A woman doesn’t have to wait until she’s dead to defend herself.
